psst — you found it.

Welcome to the light table.

This is where Stories by Mac is quietly becoming an animation studio. Short films first. Features someday. It’s early, it’s a little messy, and it’s the most fun we’ve ever had.

The dream

Why animation?

Candid snapshot of Mac, founder of Stories by Mac, laughing in a colorful toy store
probably thinking about cartoons

I’ve spent my whole career making live-action films, with stories filmed on every continent people live on. I love it, and I’m not going anywhere.

But there’s a kind of story, and a kind of feeling, that only animation gives you. Especially when you watch it together as a family. The fun, the adventure, the tears. It bonds you. It makes memories that last for decades. That’s what I’ve wanted to make for as long as I can remember.

So I’m learning the craft from the ground up, bouncing balls first, and building the studio as I go. You’re welcome to watch.

And now I’ve got a very important first audience on the way. A pink heart for a baby girl on the way
